CHICO, Calif. - The Bowlero Chico Bowling Alley, previously known as the AMF Orchard Lanes is finally open after being closed in September for renovations.

If you're looking to strike out these triple-digit temperatures, how about bowling! Action News Now reporter Kristian Lopez shows us how the only Chico bowling alley isn't "sparing" the safety of their customers.

After months of being closed, the bowling alley in Chico is finally back open, but not without some changes.

Roman Rodriguez had this to say about the reopening, "My opinion about the bowling alley being open is that it's really exciting because I haven't been in a really long time."

The Rodriguez family was eager to stop by the newly remodeled Bowlero Chico which recently reopened. Lucia Rodriguez said, "I am excited because now I don't have to be that bored anymore."

The business closed in September for remodeling and had just celebrated its grand reopening a few months later. Patrick Young, pro shop operator at the bowling alley said, "We reopened back in March for just two weeks, people got excited to come back to bowling, and then the Covid happened and we got shut down again."

The bowling alley is now taking steps to protect its guests. Face masks are required in order to enter the bowling alley and an awesome new arcade that has been completely remodeled employees say it gets sanitized every 15 minutes.

Patrick Young said, "Cleaning of the lanes, the balls, all areas, they do it after people leave each lane. It's great to see it. We make sure everything is being followed we want people to come back and enjoy a game. This is the one sport a year you can do when it's hot when it's raining. It's great to be back open so I hope everyone comes down."

Roman Rodriguez said this about the reopening, "I'm pretty excited to be playing bowling with my family and friends, and now I can come here almost anytime I want."

All employees are also temperature checked before entering work and for right now the bowling alley is operating with a limited staff.

It's open every day except for Mondays and Thursdays.
