CHICO, Calif. - Roads are causing issues for people in Chico.

Chico Public Works department has created a Local Road Safety Plan. This was prompted by the Chico Pavement Condition Index being 52 out of 100 back in January.

People in Chico are very frustrated that these roads haven't been fixed yet.

"They are absolutely atrocious," said one Chico resident, Jen Barber. "Once you get out by the farms, it is beautiful, well-paved, and lovely to travel on roads that have clear lines, clear paint but in the city it is absolutely horrible."

The Chico Chamber said that road maintenance and safety is their top priority.

In this years special report, the Chico Chamber encouraged the city to make funding for road repairs a priority.

The city is asking people in the community to give their input about future safety improvements by filling out an online survey.

High clouds are streaming over northern California on this final day of the workweek, and light showers are trying to fall over the mountains. It is warmer today despite the clouds, and it's going to get much warmer soon.
