CHICO, Calif. - The Paradise Achieve Charter High School will not operate during the 2019-2020 school year.

The high school was an addition to the Achieve Charter K-8 program in Paradise.

The high school was in its first year of being open when the Camp Fire struck. Their buildings were destroyed.

Of their 50 students enrolled before the fire, 44 are still attending at a temporary Chico campus. About half of the families say they are planning to move from the area, so the future of the school is being looked at closely as decisions are made.

Parents received a letter from the prinicpal saying it was an emotional decision for members of the board to close the new charter high school next year.

The prinicpal assured families that they will work with them to find the best next step for each student.
