Thanksgiving events happening in local counties

There are several events, including free dinners, that will be happening in our local communities for Thanksgiving.

NORTHERN CALIFORNIA - Several events are happening in our communities for Thanksgiving.

Butte County:

Run for Food
When: Thursday starting at 9 a.m.
Where: Lower Bidwell Park in Chico
Description: This 5K will begin at 9 a.m. in Lower Bidwell Park and will help support the Jesus Center. 

Thanksgiving Dinner at Jen’s Place
When: 2 p.m. Thursday
Where: 7126 Skyway in Paradise
Description: Free food

Traditional Thanksgiving Dinner at Cozy Dinner
When: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday
Where: 1695 Mangrove Ave.
Description: Turkey and Ham Steak dinners will include soup or salad, choice of potatoes, garlic bread and a click of pumpkin pie. This event is $15.99 for adults, $13.99 for seniors and $9.99 for kids.

Thanksgiving Buffet at Feather Falls Casino
When: 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday
Description: This dine-in-only buffet event will include a salad bar and soup, carving station, entrees, sides and desserts. It will cost adults $27 and children $13.99

Thanksgiving Drive-thru Dinner Giveaway
When: Thursday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. 
Where: Southside Oroville Community Center at 2959 Lower Wyandotte Rd. 
Description: Participants will be able to drive up and get a meal. 

Shasta County:

Turkey Chase
When: 8:30 a.m. to noon Thursday
Where: Lake Redding Park
Description: A 7K and a two-mile run are $25-$35.

Tehama County:

6th Annual Red Bluff Turkey Trot
When: Thursday at 7 a.m.
Where: virtual or starting at 301-315 Walnut St. in Red Bluff

Modoc County:

Modoc Turkey Trot
When: Thursday at 9 a.m.
Where: Modoc Wildlife Refuge
