TEHAMA COUNTY, Calif. - For some stuck at home, reading has become a nice pastime. As a way to help, the Tehama County Library has adapted to the times and is open again for curbside pick-up.
All you have to do is go online to the library's website and place a hold on a book. The library staff will prep the materials that you want and give you a call so you can set up a time for pick-up.
"We place them in a bag and put them out either on the table for people or we will bring them out curbside and set them on their
hood," said librarian Georgia Scott. "It's been very well received. We are hopping in here getting everybody's items in their hand once again which gives us a great feeling to be able to do."
When the items are returned, the staff sanitizes and cleans the books before putting them back on the shelf.
The library also provides access to audiobooks, e-books and videos.
Once you're allowed to go back inside, you will find computers spaced out and markers on the floor reminding you to social distance.
The library is open for curbside pick-up Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. There are branches in Red Bluff, Corning and Los Molinos.
