Man charged for first-degree murder of Forest Ranch man

The man told Deputies he had been in a physical altercation with a man on Schott Road.

UPDATE: 10:11 p.m., August 27, 2019 - Two names have been released by the Sheriff's office regarding what Officials are now calling a murder.

Officials say the man with the cut on his leg who requested medical help was identified as Robert Anderson, 25 of Chico.

Anderson told Deputies he had been in a physical altercation with a man on Schott Road.

Upon arrival at Schott Road, blood on the ground led to a home on the 4800 block where Deputies found a body, identified as Gunther Rupprecht, 30 of Forest Ranch.

Further investigation led to the arrest of Anderson and his booking into the Butte County Jail for first-degree murder.

This is an ongoing investigation.

FOREST RANCH, Calif. - The Butte County Sheriff's Office is investigating what they are calling a suspicious death.

Officers said someone brought a man to the Forest Ranch Post Office with cuts on his leg asking for medical help around 9:30 a.m. 

Deputies' investigation led them back to a house on Schott Road in Forest Ranch that had a dead body in the driveway.

The victim is currently at the hospital.
