OROVILLE, Calif. – Cal Fire law enforcement officers have arrested multiple suspects in a year-long arson investigation.

On Jan. 11, 2020, an occupied home in Oroville was set on fire in an intentional act of arson, according to Cal Fire. During the same time frame, about nine miles away in Gridley, a car was set on fire in another intentional act of arson.

Over the course of this year-long investigation, Cal Fire officers said they learned Ember Lee Bert, Levy Dylan Williams, and Andrew Joseph Tune were allegedly responsible for the planning and commission of the crimes.

Authorities said all three suspects were taken into custody by Cal Fire law enforcement officers. Tune and Williams have been booked into Butte County Jail and are being held on $300,000 bail. Bert has been released pending future charges.

The first of two storms moved over northern California late last night and this morning, but our weather has quieted for now. More rain showers will fall Saturday, but heavier rain and snow with stronger wind arrives Sunday.
