UPDATE: 2:21 p.m. Wednesday, March 10, 2021 - A second suspect involved in a Wednesday morning burglary has been arrested, Chico Police said.
Around 12:37 p.m., officers said they received information that the second suspect was seen earlier in the day riding a bicycle through an apartment complex near Pomona Ave. The suspect was wearing a backpack that he had stolen during the burglary, according to police.
Chico Police Officers conducted an area check and located the suspect, identified as Sador Fitsum, near Walnut and W. 2nd Street. Fitsum was positively identified as the other subject involved in the residential burglary and was arrested.
The backpack was also identified as the victim’s property and some of its contents. Fitsum was arrested for residential burglary and transported to Butte County Jail.
CHICO, Calif. – Police arrested a man Wednesday morning in connection to a residential burglary in Chico.
On March 10, around 9:35 a.m., Chico Police officers were dispatched to the 600 block of Ivy Street for a reported residential burglary.
The residents told police they were asleep while the burglary was taking place. But one of the residents woke up after hearing a noise in the front of the home.
The resident said he saw two unknown men, who acted as if they belonged in the home, until they ran out the front door carrying bags full of items belonging to the residents.
Chico Police officers and Chico State police searched for suspects in the south campus area. One Chico State police officer located a man, identified as 38-year-old Dangelo Lynch, was located in the area. Lynch was identified as one of the suspects responsible for the burglary. Police said he was also in possession of property taken during the crime.
Lynch was arrested for residential burglary and transported to the Butte County Jail. Police did not mention if they are searching for another suspect. Action News Now is working to find out more.
