Suspect Wounded During Officer-Involved Shooting in Marysville

A man was shot by a Marysville police officer on Saturday night, after authorities received reports of a man with a firearm on 10th St.

MARYSVILLE, Calif. - The Marysville Police Department was involved in an officer-involved shooting on Saturday night, Jan. 5, 2018.

Reports of a man with a firearm in the 700 block of 10th Street in Marysville were received at approximately 9:40 p.m.

Officers say when they arrived at the scene the suspect discharged a firearm and began advancing toward officers.

One of Marysville's police officers returned fire, striking the suspect.

The man who was shot was taken to a local hospital where he is reported to be in stable condition.

This is an ongoing investigation. Officials said further details will be released as the investigation continues.
