BUTTE COUNTY, Calif. - A Camp Fire survivor whose business was destroyed in the fire is nearly three months into a brand new business venture.

When Brian Kendall lost his business in the Camp Fire, he decided there was only one way to get back on his feet again. He decided he would follow his dreams and open up his very own barbeque joint.

The Camp Fire destroyed Kendall's's 2nd hand and consignment shop off of Clark and Bille.

When he returned to Paradise three weeks after evacuating, he said there were hardly any places to eat. So, he bought a trailer and opened up Camp Fire BBQ.

"I've been doing it for years," he said. "I've done everything from the back of the house to the front of the house. I knew where I was going, I had no idea the influx of people we'd have, though. When we opened it was really scary a complete and total learning curve. We go through about 100 pounds of meat a day."

Kendall said that the Paradise community has been very supportive of his new business.

"When a business like this that is down on its knees gets up off of its knees and starts helping the community heal I'm all for that that's why I'm buying," said Jack Heringer, a customer at Camp Fire Barbeque. "That's why I'm here.

Kendall said he gets about 80 customers per day. Business has been very successful and he plans to open up a standing location in the near future, he said.

Camp Fire BBQ is open on the Skyway next to Beyond Fitness. Its hours are from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
