Saturday was mostly cloudy was sprinkles or very light showers for some locations. It was also fairly warm with temperatures near 60 in the valley and 40's and 50's in the mountains. Snow levels were very high near 7000 feet but any snow falling was very light.
A fairly strong storm will move into the North State on Sunday, bringing a decent amount of rain to the valley and snow to the mountains. We'll pick up around 1/2" to an inch of rain in the Valley, and snow above 5000'. A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for Sunday for the Sierra Nevada. Mountain locations above 6000 feet could receive over a foot of snow. Higher amounts will fall near the peaks.
Look for the storm to dry up and clear out by Monday, and we'll enjoy plenty of sunshine all next week. A light north breeze 5 to 15 mph will help warm us up, and prevent fog from becoming too much of an an issue. If you're tired of all the rain we've seen this month and are ready for some sunshine, next week is your week!
