REDDING, Calif. - The Good News Rescue Mission's 19th annual "Stuff the Truck" food drive is kicking off in Redding on Tuesday.

The Good News Rescue Mission and co-hosts Lithia Motors, Action News Now and ServiceMaster by Cronic are teaming up to help more than 1,000 local families in need during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.

This year’s drive aims to collect enough canned food and frozen turkey's to allow those in need to prepare traditional holiday meals at home.

The drive will take place at Lithia Motors on E. Cypress in Redding from 6 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Slightly cooler high temperatures are ahead for your Tuesday, but the threat of mountain thunderstorms will keep fire danger high in some areas. Staying mild mid week, but dangerous heat returns this weekend.
