CHICO, Calif. - Two weeks ago - Governor Gavin Newsom said people should expect their kids to return to school in July.
But it doesn't look like that will be the case for students at Chico Unified School District.
Superintendent Kelly Staley says the current plan is to have the next school season begin August 17th.
Starting June 8th - kids will be able to take online classes during the summer.
However, Staley cautions that targeted August 17th date depends on where California is in the coronavirus battle.
Staley says having face to face instruction inside classrooms all depends on what phase Governor Newsom has issued.
