Mobile home in Thermalito destroyed by fire

Cal Fire crews knocked down a structure fire in Thermalito Monday morning.

THERMALITO, Calif. – Cal Fire crews knocked down a structure fire in Thermalito Monday morning.

Cal Fire Butte Unit reported the fire around 9 a.m. on Feather Ave. and 12th Street in Thermalito, according to Butte Unit Cal Fire Captain, Jacob Gilliam.

When crews arrived on the scene, the mobile home was fully involved. Shortly after 9:40 a.m., it was knocked down.

Gilliam said the homeowner was not there during the fire. At this time, they do not know where the homeowner is.

Crews are on scene mopping up. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.

Neighbors told Action News Now that no one lives inside the double-wide mobile home. They also said, they do see homeless people often sleeping inside that building.
