Structure fire at Redding's Sundial Lodge

Redding Fire Department is at the scene of a structure fire at Sundial Lodge in Redding.

REDDING, Calif. - Redding Fire Department responded to a structure fire at Sundial Lodge on Tuesday, ShastaComm-911 said.

The fire was in an upstairs unit and was knocked down in about nine or ten minutes, Battalion Chief Mike Sawyer of the Redding Fire Department said. 

There was one person in the room and was taken to the hospital with severe burns, Sawyer said. 

The call came in just before 6 p.m. as crews responded to 1055 Market Street.

The first crew to respond noticed heavy fire coming from the second-story room with fire coming out of the door and window.

Market Street was closed between Trinity Street and Riverside Dr. but has reopened.

The unit sustained heavy damage and the cause of the fire is unknown, Sawyer said. 

Redding Fire is working a structure fire on Market St. between Trinity and Riverside. Market St. is closed to all traffic. Please avoid the area!
