Happy New Years! We saw sunny to mostly sunny skies across the area for New Years Eve. Today we'll see increasing clouds with a chance for showers, more north, this evening and into the night. A few inches of snow will be possible in the mountains as well. The rain and snow will remain nscattered rather than widespread.
Highs remain in the mid-to-low 50s all week.
There wil be chance for more showers Saturday evening but mostly for northern counties.
Rain arrives late again on Sunday but this time it will be significant. Expect widespread valley showers Sunday night through the day on Monday with heavy snow possible in the mountains. The most significant snow accumulations will be above 5,500 feet. 8-18 inches of snow with 2 to 3 feet on the mountantops. An inch of rain could be seen in the valley Sunday through Monday.
Tuesday looks to be a drier day with partly cloudy for most. A few showers will be possible for northern locations.
Your warmest day of the week will be Tuesday thanks to extra sunshine. Some in the valley may break into the upper-50s.
Wednesday we will see more showers, possibly widespread, on Wednesday.
