The forecast for today calls for partly cloudy skies but increasing through the day. Your best chance for sunshine will be in the morning. A weak system moves in this evening leaving us cloudy. Some rain will fall from those clouds but it will not be significant. I'm expecting less than a tenth of an inch in the valley, with the best chance in our northern counties. Valley highs will be in the mid-to-low 50s.
New Years Eve will see decreasing clouds through the day and will be the driest day in your 7-day forecast. Any outdoor celebrations will be clear of rain but plan for cold weather outside at midnight. Highs will be in the mid-50s for New Years Eve with overnight lows dipping into the mid-30s.
Rain chances return Friday with another weak system, bringing us similar amounts compared to the system expected this evening.
Rain is supposed to occur daily from Saturday through Tuesday with the best valley rain & mountain snow totals on Sunday and Monday. Precipitation will be widespread with highs remaining in the mid-to-low 50s and overnight lows around 40 degrees.
