It was another very warm and windy day across northern California today. Skies have been sunny across our entire region for your Tuesday afternoon. Temperaturs have climbed into the mid 70's to around 80 degrees in the valley, into the high 60's to mid 70's in the foothills, and into the 60's in most mountain areas. Sustained winds have been up to around 20mph out of the north and we have had gusts in the 20 to 30mph range in most areas. Willows had the strongest gust in the valley today and that was 33mph out of the north earlier in the morning. Jarbo Gap reported a gust of 40mph this morning.

Skies will be clear to mostly clear tonight and we'll be sunny to mostly sunny on Wednesday. We are expecting a cooler system to pass through to our north and that will keep out high temperatures somewhat in check but the trend of dry and warm weather will prevail. Temperatures will dip into the mid 40's in the valley, into the mid 40's to low 50's in the foothills, and into the 20's to mid 30's in the mountains for the start of your Wednesday. High temperatures are projected to end up in the mid 70's in the valley, in the mid to high 60's in the foothills, and into the 60's in the mountains on Wednesday afternoon. Winds will be out of the north up to around 10mph. We'll have very similar conditions on the way for your Thursday but temperatures will end up slightly warmer for your afternoon. Valley areas are projected to top out in the high 70's to low 80's on Thursday. Dry weather, increasing clouds and warm temperatures will persist into your Friday. Temperatures on Friday afternoon will top out in the low to mid 70's in the valley, and into the 60's for most higher elevations.

A wet and cooler system is projected to track into the West Coast on Saturday into Sunday and that will bring the potential for big changes to your weekend forecast. Showers are currently looking likely for the mountains and foothills, and we have around a 40 percent chance for at least some light showers in the valley. Temepratures in the valley will dip back into the low to mid 60's this weekend, while mountain areas will top out in the 50's. By Sunday we could actually see the return of below average high temperatures! Gusty winds out of the north will start to develop as we head through your Sunday and could continue on Monday of next week. Another wet system is currently forecasted to move into the Pacific Northwest on Tuesday of next week and that could bring another chance for mountain showers to northern California. High temperatures will warm back into the mid to high 60's in the valley for the start of next week.

After a windy Saturday and fairly breezy Sunday, the wind we've had is weakening as the month of February comes to a close. We can expect a mostly clear first morning of March, followed by more clouds and mild air by the afternoon.
