Storm Tracker Forecast: Triple-digits by the week's end

Pleasant weather today but we will see a gradual climb in temperatures with widespread triple-digits by the week's end.

Posted: Aug 19, 2019 7:20 AM

Below average to average temperatures expected to sneak in again today with highs in the low-to-mid-90s in the Valley and highs in the mountains in the mid-to-upper-80s. The cooler weather is thanks to a strong southerly "delta" breeze. However, due to the breeze being so strong (10-15 mph) in the Valley, we can expect high fire danger as well.

A high-pressure system all the way in Texas will slowly-build towards Northern California. As this happens, a gradual climb in temperatures can be seen through the week, with wide-spread triple-digits expected in the Valley by Friday and even more extreme temperatures are possible over the weekend.

Cooler weather the next few days before we warm up again this weekend flirting with more record high temperatures. By next week we get even cooler but we also have the possibility of high fire danger next week.
