Get ready for another sunny and hot day across Northern California. Skies are clear for the start of your Thursday and will stay sunny this afternoon. Temperatures have stayed very warm overnight. Valley areas have only dipped into the 60's to 70's overnight, and mountain areas are starting out in the 40's to 50's this morning. Winds are mostly calm and out of the Northeast this morning, but will become out of the South to 15mph this afternoon. Humidity has recovered a little better overnight, but will dip back into the 15 to 30 percent range this afternoon. High temperatures will end up in the mid 90's to around 100 degrees in the valley today and mountain areas will top out in the mid 80's to low 90's this afternoon. The hot and dry weather will keep fire danger elevated this afternoon.
We do have a very modest but welcome dip in temperatures on the way for your Friday. Low pressure along the West Coast will be responsible for the subtle cooling, but it's infuence is expected to diminish by this weekend. Valley areas will drop to around a degree below average on Friday afternoon, but will still end up in the low to mid 90's. Skies will stay sunny over the next several days and no rain is expected in our region. Temperatures will climb back into the high 90's to triple digits in the valley this weekend. No big changes are expected to take place from Saturday through the middle of next week. High temperatures will continue to top out in the mid 90's to triple digits in the valley and skies will stay sunny through your extended forecast.
