Storm Tracker Forecast: Stronger heat moves in this weekend

Today will be hot & breezy with stronger heat moving in for the weekend.

Posted: Jul 17, 2020 5:45 AM

Today will be sunny & breezy with winds in the Valley gusting 20-25 mph from the south. We can also expect this stronger delta breeze to keep the central valley in the mid-90s but the north valley will still see triple-digits.

This weekend we get a lot hotter. Higher pressure moves into our region allowing for more heating along with sunny skies. Highs could get as high as 107 or 108 by Sunday with extreme heat lasting into Monday.

By Tuesday the ridge of high pressure backs off a bit, still keeping us sunny and dry but allowing for less extreme heat. We'll likely return to average temperatures later next week. This will still be hot, 90s to near 100, but still cooler than this weekends forecasted temperatures.

It was nice to receive some rain and mountain snow around northern California late Sunday and early Monday. Thankfully a change to our overall weather pattern is underway, and many more chances of rain are coming!
