Today we've seen widespread triple digit temperatures across the Valley with temperatures reaching the 90s across the mountain regions. A dry cold front will move through today and tomorrow which will lead to gusty dry conditions, most particularly in Modoc county, where a RED FLAG WARNING has been issued. We'll cool to near 70 overnight with more widespread triple-digit temperatures tomorrow. The heat should top off at 105 for our hottest areas in the Valley.
On Monday, the delta breeze gets a little stronger which leads to temperatures near 100 farther south in the Valley but still pretty hot in the north valley near 105.
We get even hotter on Tuesday and Wednesday as a strong ridge of high pressure builds further into our area. This will lead to temperatures getting above 105 in some locations on Tuesday and maybe even exceeding 110 degrees in Redding or Red Bluff on Wednesday.
On Thursday and Friday we cool down as the ridge weakens, helped by a low pressure trough moving through Canada. Thursday will still see lower-end triple digits but Chico should see 98 or 99 on Friday with Redding still reaching around 101 to 103.
Saturday another high pressure system moves in, leading to more strong heat.
