We're getting warmer than originally anticipated this afternoon, with highs today still above average. We could reach the mid-80s tomorrow in Redding and near 80 in Chico as well, with many in the Sierra possibly reaching the 70s.
Redding stay in the 80s through Wednesday, with Chico also remaining in the upper-70s. The warm temperatures are due to a strong ridge of high pressure keeping us dry, sunny and warm. The good news is winds are low, so fire danger will remain low throughout the extended forecast.
By Thursday, some clouds move into the forecast, causing our high temperatures to taper of a bit into the mid-70s. Friday and Saturday could see more significant cloud cover dropping highs into the low-70s and keeping lows in the upper-40s to low-50s in the Valley. The following week could see rain chances finally returning into the forecast but the confidence in the rain totals is very low confidence for now.
