Storm Tracker Forecast: Record heat today but cooler by the weekend

Today will be the hottest day of the year with valley highs soaring to 20 degrees above average in the mid-90s. We will see a gradual cooling trend to normal temperatures tomorrow into the weekend.

Today will be the warmest day of the week and the hottest day so far this year. I expect temperatures will soar 20 degrees above average across the area with many records possibily being tied or broken. Highs will be in the mid-90s in the Valley and 80s in the mountains.

Tomorrow the ridge of high pressure which kept things sunny and hot, moves to the East. This allows partly cloudy skies tomorrow. However the warm air will still linger, so valley highs look to reach the upper-80s.

Thursday & Friday highs will be in the low-80s with mostly sunny skies.

This weekend the cooling trend will continue as a disturbance passes to our north. This could bring more clouds for Saturday and small chances for showers in the mountains, mainly to the North. High will be in the mid-to-upper 70s.

Staying hot and hazy today, but relief from the heat is on the way for the middle of this week. We'll also have the potential for mountain thunderstorms on Wednesday. The heat returns this weekend.
