Today will be hot & sunny with records possibly being broken. Highs could get anywhere from 97 to 100 degrees. It will not be windy or as dry as yesterday.
Tomorrow we remain in the upper-90s, though you'll probably be a degree or two cooler tomorrow compared to today.
Mother's Day will be partly cloudy and breezy with highs in the upper-80s. Much better weather compared to Friday & Saturday. The reason for the wind is due to the high pressure system moving off to our east with a low pressure system moving in from the west. These two systems act as opposing forces, creating the wind.
Monday through Wednesday will be wet & cooler as a late season cold front and strong system move into our region. Highs will range from the mid-70s to mid-60s with the coldest day being Tuesday. 1-2 inches of rain will be possible in the mountains with 1-3 inches of snow at the higher passes. Even Lassen Volcanic National Park could see half a foot to a foot of snow. More snow on Mt. Shasta as well. Foothill regions could see 1 to 2 inches of rain. In the Valley about an inch to an inch and a half will be possible in the north valley with the central valley likely seeing half an inch to an inch of rain. The best chance for rain will be Tuesday night to Wednesday morning will a decent chance of seeing valley thunderstorms on Tuesday.
Thursday we will be drier with partly cloudy skies and highs in the upper-70s.
