Fire danger will continue to be elevated today but will not be as big of a concern as yesterday as winds will be lighter today, but still breezy. The air is also very dry this morning with humidity values between 15-25%. Highs will reach the mid-90s for most in the Valley today.
Sunshine and heat continues tomorrow with highs in the upper-90s if not to 100 degrees for a few. This will likely break records. The delta breeze returns for Sacramento on Saturday but it won't quite make it to us on Saturday. This means we will see another day of strong heat in the upper-to-mid 90s.
The delta breeze will help keep us in the upper-80s on Sunday with partly cloudy skies for our region. This is good news for anyone who has plans for Mother's Day.
Next week a late season cold front moves in which will lead to significantly colder highs. Monday highs only reach the mid-to-upper 70s with scattered mountain showers and a few valley showers possible. Tuesday a stronger second cold front moves in which cools highs into the low-70s to upper-60s. Showers will be likely on Tuesday with a quarter to half an inch of rain in the central valley, up to an inch of rain in the north valley and even a few inches of high elevation snow in the mountains. Wednesday we get back in the mid-70s but a few showers will still be possible.
