Friday will see highs in the low 60s with sunshine to start your day. Friday ends with rain. A cold front will move through bringing a clear line of showers across the region which will move through quickly. The timing of this line of showers will be around noon to 1pm in Trinity & Siskiyou county and 2-3pm in Shasta county. The rest of the valley will see showers around 10pm-midnight with Sierra rain & snow starting around midnight. It will be out of here by 7am Saturday with sunshine returning for the rest of the day. Lingering snow showers are possible in the Sierra-Cascades before noon.
Snow levels look to start around 5,000 feet and drop to 3,000 feet around the event's end. Less than 4 inches of snow are expected below 5,000 feet with 4 to 0 inches of snow above 5,000 feet. Some localized totals could be as high as a foot. A WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY is in effect in the mountains due to the chance for slippery roads and poor visibilities.
Rain chances will depend on where you are in the valey. If you live in the dry shadow of the mountains in Glenn county, then probably only 0.10 inches. If you are in Chico you could see a quarter to half an inch. If you are in Rng you could see over half an inch of rain. After the rain ends Saturday morning, Saturday afternoon looks to be nice and sunny.
Most of Sunday will be good to go with a chance of showers late at night. Widespread showers & snow are expected Monday-Tuesday with an additional inch of rain for most in the valley. Highs are expected to be in the mid-50s Monday and low-50s on Tuesday.
By Wednesday the showers chances become more scattered but still remain with highs but up into the mid-50s.
Friday ahead of the cold front and Tuesday when we are in the middle of a big system are expected to be the breeziest days of the forecast.
