Today has been hot & sunny with a only a handful of thunderstorms in the Sierra, most south of our area. Tomorrow we will see the same heat, but the thunderstorms will be more widespread. Thunderstorms will be likely across the Sierra-Cascades with the best chances from Susanville to Reno. Thundestorms will alos be possible in the Coastal Mountains as well and near Mt Shasta. Main concerns with these stroms will be flash flooding and lightning-caused fires.
Widespread triple-digit heat today and Monday will end on Tuesday. The Centrral Valley should see highs staying in the 90s and thejn even Redding should stay in the 90s by Wednesday with Chico possible seeing a high of 94 or 95 on Wednesday.
Thursday and Friday will gradually warm back up with plenty of sunshine.
Triple-digit heat could return by the weekend.
