Storm Tracker Forecast: Less heat next week

This weekend into Friday will be hot but we will cool down a bit in the middle of you week.

Today has been another hot, sunny and dry day. Tomorrow will be very similar with highs in the upper-90s to low-100s.

Monday will still be pretty hot with triple digit tmperatures in the north valley and upper-90s in the central valley.

Tuesday will be a little less hot as the jet stream takes a dip inot our area. This will return onshore flow, allowing the delta breeze to cool many off. Redding might still hit 100 but most will drop into the mid-90s on Tuesday.

Wednesday will be by far the coolest day across our region. The delta breeze will be strong and the trough of low pressure will be centered over us. Don't expect any rain. We are staying dry and sunny. But some in the Valley may not reach 90 degrees. Right now I have Chico at 90 on Wednesday and Redding at 95.

Thursday will be about the same as Wednesday except a few degrees warmer.

The trough of low pressure leaves by Friday with the delta breeze much weaker. This allows us to return back to upper-90s and triple digits for Friday into your weekend.

August began seasonably hot on this Sunday with fewer showers and thunderstorms than previous days, but a few did still pop over the higher terrain. Our rain chances are disappearing, but the heat and smoke will remain.
