Big changes ahead for your day today. Cooler weather with the chance for showers. Highs only in the upper-60s to low-70s today. Breezy weather, especially in the afternoon, will be likely.
A late season system is spinning just off the coast today and will swing a cold front through the area today, with a line of rain along it. Scattered showers will continue after the frontal passage into tomorrow and a maybe even a few more isolated hsowers on Wednesday. 0.10-0.25 inches will fall in the central valley with 0.25 to 0.60 inches of rain to fall in the north valley. I expect up to an inch in the foothills and up to an inch and a half in the mountains. A few inches of snow will also be possible above 6500 feet (mostly on Tuesday) with up to a foot of snow on Lassen peak above 10,000 feet. Thunderstorms will also be possible in the Valley and in the Foothills on Tuesday.
Thursday & Friday a warming trend will settle in as we warm into the mid-70s on Thursday then into the 80s on Friday, possibly lasting into Saturday with more sunshine.
Another late-season system could be in the works for Sunday and next Monday with more rain and cooler weather in the forecast.
