Be prepared for anorther breezy day and warmer temperatures in your Monday forecast. Skies are mostly clear this morning, and temperatures are very mild in most valley and foothill areas. Winds have diminished in most of our region overnight, but we'll see them picking back up early to mid day, before they start to subside again this afternoon. Temperatures are starting out in the 40's to 50's in the valley and foothills, and in the 20's to 30's in our mountain areas this morning. Winds will be up to around 15mph out of the north, and gusts up to around 30mph will be possible today. The strongest winds are expected in the Sierra and foothills, with slightly weaker winds in the valley. High temperatures will be very warm this afternoon. Valley areas will to out in the low to mid 70's, foothill areas will top out in the 60's and mountain areas will end up in the 50's to lower 60's this afternoon.
Cold but dry systems tracking through to our north will bring modest cooling into our region on Tuesday, but temperatures will still end up above average. Valleya areas can expect to start out in the 40's on Tuesday morning and to end up in the lower 70's on Tuesday afternoon. Foothill areas will mostly dip into the 40's and then end up in the 50's to mid 60's on Tuesday, and mountain areas can expect low temperatures in the 20's to 30's and high temperatures in the 50's to around 60 degrees. Low pressure off to our east will interact with high pressure off the coast in the Pacific to provide gusty north winds on Wednesday. Gusts out of the north in the 40 to 50mph range will be possible, and if the forecast holds a Wind Advisory will likely be issued for that day. Temperatures will drop by several degrees on Wednesday compared to earlier in the week. Expect high temperatures in the upper 50's to lower 60's in the valley, 40's to mid 50's in the foothills, and mostly 40's in our mountain areas. Temperatures will then rebound as high pressure builds back into northern California later this week, resulting in valley areas back into the mid to high 60's on Thursday and Friday.
Temperaturew will still trend in the low to mid 60's in the valley this weekend, and we'll have sunny to mostly sunny skies. Foothill areas can expect to top out in the 50's, and mountain areas will end up back in the 40's to mid 50's through this weekend. The current outlook keeps northern California dry through this weekend, but longer range models are showing low pressure bringing the potential for showers back into our region early next week.
