Today is going to be hot with highs back in the upper-90s and sunny. A RED FLAG WARNING will remain in effect until 8pm with gusty winds coming in from the north this afternoon.
Tomorrow we will reach 100-102 with sunny skies.
This heat wave in the triple digits will last for the rest of the weekend and the rest of next week. The good news is winds will be light, so fire danger will be lower. Sadly, the long heat wave will work towards really drying out the fuels which could lead to worse fire danger later this summer. WHich by the way officially starts on Saturday. Father's Day starts on Sunday! If you have any plans for the weekend, please plan cautiously according to the heat.
Next week the heat becomes more extreme. We break out of 100-102 and reach 105 to even 108 in some valley locations. The hottest day will be on Tuesday.
