Happy New Years Eve! We saw some showers last night and it pretty much stuck to what I had forecasted. Only 0.12" in Chico and 0.04" in Redding. We saw some better totals in with the most recored in Paradise at 0.38".
Today, you won't need to worry about the showers! I'm expecting partly cloud to mostly sunny skies for today and highs in the upper-50s. Not bad for the last day of the year. Tonight if you're outside to ring in the new year, you'll want to dress warm. It will be around the low-40s at midnight in the valley.
Friday we have another wet system moving in in the evening and overnight hours bringing valley showers and mountain snow. The precipitation will be mostly scattered with this system and therefore not heavy. Highs remain in the 50s with overnight lows in the low-40s.
Saturday through Wednesday we will have a chance for. Every single day we'll see another system bring more wet weather in the valley and more snow to the mountains. Most of the rain and snow will not be significant on its own but when added together, we should end up with several more inches in the valley and much more in the mountains as far as snow is concerned.
