Mostly mild weather is in store for the week ahead across northern California. High pressure is set up just off the coast in the Pacific and will keep the storm track to our north through this upcoming weekend. Thin clouds have tracked across northern California overnight, but will be clearing out for most of our region early today. Temperatures have dipped into the 30's for most of the valley overnight, into the 30's to 40's in the foothills, and into the teens to low 30's in the mountains. Skies will be mostly sunny today and we'll have wind out of the north to 10mph in the valley. High temperatures are projected to end up in the low to mid 60's in teh valley, 50's to lower 60's in the foothills, and in the 40's to upper 50's in the mountains this afternoon.
Low pressure tracking to our east will result in slightly stronger north to east winds in your Tuesday forecast. This will result in a modest uptick in overnight low temperatures for the start of your Tuesday, but not much else change is expected for your Tuesday. The ridge of high pressure will continue to be the dominant feature in your extended forecast and will keep our region mild through the week. Any chance for wet weather will stay well to our north and models are keeping us dry through your upcoming weekend. Valley areas can expect low temperatures to mostly dip into the 30's and high temperatures to top out in the low to mid 60's through this weekend, with some days a little warmer than that. Foothill areas can expect low temperatures to range from the 30's to upper 40's and high temperatures to end up in the mid 50's to lower 60's through the week. Mountain areas can expect low temperatures in the teens to lower 30's and high temperatures mostly in the 50's for the week ahead.
This weekend looks very similar to what we'll be seeing during the week, but high temperatures may end up a little warmer. Low temperatures will stay the same, but projections are putting valley high temperatures back into the mid to high 60's, foothill areas into the 50's to mid 60's, and mountain areas into the mid 50's to lower 60's. Any chance for rain over the next 7 days will be in areas closest to the coast, and any potential for wet weather for the interior of northern California is to far out to forecast with any type of confidence.
