Grab those sunglasses, and feel free to leave your umbrella at home today. High pressure is building into the West Coast, and will bring sunny skies and warmer high temperatures to northern California today. Skies are starting out clear this morning and will stay sunny through the entire day. Temperatures are starting out anywhere from the upper 30's to lower 50's in the valley this morning, in the 30's to 40's in the foothills, and in the 20's to 30's in out mountain areas. We will continue to have breezy north winds in the forecast for today. Sustained winds up to 15mph out of the north are expected, and gusts up to around 25mph will be possible. High temperatures will top out in the low to mid 70's in the valley, uppr 50's to mid 60's in the foothills, and mid 50's to mid 60's in our mountain areas this afternoon.

High pressure centered off the coast in the Pacific will be the dominant feature in your weekend forecast, and will keep our region sunny and our temperatures very warm over the next couple of days. The current projections keep valley low temperatures in the 40's and high temperatures are expected to top out in the mid 70's to lower 80's. Foothill areas will start out in the 40's to 50's and end up in the 60's to low 70's this weekend. Mountain areas will start out in the 20's to 30's and end up in the upper 50's to lower 70's through this weekend. We'll have modest winds on the way for Saturday, but will likely start to see winds picking up on Sunday afternoon.

Low pressure tracking through the Pacific Northwest from Sunday night into Monday will bring some changes to your forecast for the start of next week. There will be a chance for some showers in our higher elevations closest to the Oregon border from Sunday night through early in the day on Monday. The more widespread change will be a dip in temperatures and another round of gusty north winds. Valley areas will dip back into the mid to high 60's, foothill areas will end up in the 50's to lower 60's, and mountain areas will mostly top out in the 50's on Monday. North winds will still be an issue on Tuesday, but our temperatures will start to warm back up. We'll have winds diminishing on Tuesday night. Temperatures will warm into the 70's to lower 80's in the valley for the middle of next week.

The welcome relief of showers will be with us this evening! They will continue to push through most places in the valley. Some places may not see some rain given their proximity to the mountains and the effects of a rain shadow
