The cold & wet weather the last few days came from a system just off the coast. That has now moved down the coast to Southern California. This means today will be sunnier and warmer with highs reaching the upper-60s to even the mid-70s. A few mountain showers will be possible in the Sierra with the best chances farther south towards Lake Tahoe. Its unlikely we'll see showers in the Valley today but as you head towards Sacramento, a few light showers could be possible once you get south of Yuba City.
Tomorrow we warm into the upper-70s to low-80s with sunny skies. It will also be just a bit breezy.
Thursday & Friday should still be warm but it looks like the highs will drop back into the 70s for everyone, with increasing clouds as you head south in the Valley. Mostly sunny in Redding and partly cloudy in Chico. The reason for the subtle changes from the warmer & sunnier weather on Wednesday has to do with that low pressure system that moved down the coast. It will remain stalled in SoCal and could even retrograde back north a bit into central california.
By Saturday, the system will finally move out east and allow the high pressure system in the Pacific full control of our weather again. This will bring back complete sunny skies and highs in the 80s for the weekend.
Monday we should return back to the 70s.
