Today will be a fantastic day for any plans outdoors. Valley highs reach the mid-70s with sunny skies, although we will have some clouds in the morning.
We stay warm and sunny all week with the warmest day on Thursday with highs possibly reaching the 80s.
A major shift in the weather patterns comes on Saturday. The ridge of high pressure weakens greatly allowing for a winter storm to slide down the West Coast into Northern California. Rainfall is expected to be widespread with significant snowfall in the mountains. The best chances for rain will be on Sunday but precipitation will still be prevalent on Saturday and Monday. Snow levels will drop into the foothills on Sunday and could drop near or below 1000 feet on Monday. So before they system exits the region, we could see snow flurries in Redding on Monday night.
