Today we have a few more clouds out there with more cool weather. We also tied a low in Redding at 26 degrees but tonight and following nights will be warmer due to more cloud cover. We've got another winter storm on our doorstep and even more unsettled weather next week.
Highs tomorrow will be in the 50s in the valley and much cooler in the mountains.
A winter storm approaches Thursday and could start some showers and snow in the mountains but it will be light. Most of the rain & snow will be here by Friday night into Saturday morning, spreading from north to south. Rain chances in the valley have been wound down some after the storm looks less powerful than originally projected. It looks like we'll see a trace to a quarter of an inch of rain.
As for snow, elevations will see snow at 4000 ft in the beginning on Thursday and then up to 6000 ft by Saturday. As for snow totals, it looks to be about 6 inches to a foot.
Sunday could see a few showers but mainly for those farther north close to the Oregon border or along the coast.
Monday & Tuesday a ridge of high pressure passes over which will keep us dry and bring high back into the upper-60s.
By Wednesday, a disturbance is expected to pass over NorCal which could provide more shower chances in the valley and more snow to the mountains.
