Today is going to be a great day! A weak cold front came through yesterday. Brought a stray shower in the valley and some showers in the mountains. The weak front will keep us cooler today, so we should avoid the 80s for the most part but still pretty sunny in the afternoon and breezy with wind gusts up to 30 mph. A few showers will still be possible in the Sierra.
Tomorrow we start off Memorial Weekend and it starts significantly warmer with highs reaching the upper-80s. Then by Sunday we're all the way up into the mid-90s with sunny skies. By Monday, Memorial Day, we could see upper-90s and a return to near 100 degrees.
After memorial day, the rest of the forecast continues this warming trend. Excessive heat for multiple days looks likely and its likely we will see a heat advisory, if not an excessive heat warning, being issued for several days. Highs will reach the triple digits across the Valley on Tuesday and remain there through Thursday warming each day. Tuesday highs of 99-102, Wednesday highs of 100-103, Thursday highs of 103-105. Stay indoors in the A/C if you can. If not, find the shade whenever possible. Stay hydrated and wear light clothing if you are going to be outdoors for a prolonged amount of time. Stay safe everyone!
