Storm Tracker Forecast: Triple digits this weekend

Temperatures are expected to stay in the low-90s for now, but begin to rise on Thursday and into the triple digits by Saturday.

Posted: Jul 1, 2019 7:17 AM

Today highs in the valley will reach the low-90s. Mountain areas should reach the upper-70s if not the low-80s. We should also see low humidity levels today, so a high fire danger is possible today, however with wind speeds low, large spreading fires are not a big threat today.

Temperatures should remain seasonable the next few days as cooler air to our North in Oregon and Washington remains in place. However, by Thursday this cooler air will retreat back into Canada. As this happens, we will see a return to unseasonably warm temperatures. They will rise into the upper-90s on Thursday and Friday and may even break 100 degrees on Saturday. What will happen on Sunday is still up in the air, but for now, weather models are indicating cooler air to our North will prevent us from getting any hotter.

Toasty temperatures are ahead for your Thursday, but some modest relief from the heat is on the way. Fire danger concerns are on the rise as the potential for thunderstorms returns in your Friday and Saturday forecast.
