Sunday was a bright and toasty day for northern California, with the warmest highs we've experienced since October 2020, with valley highs in the upper 80s and 90s. Monday will be slightly cooler. A ridge of high pressure brought unseasonable warmth to our area today, but changes are coming our way this week and next weekend. We won't have much change tonight, though. We'll have a clear sky with warmer than average lows in the 30s in the mountains with 40s and 50s in the valley and foothills. We can expect more high clouds Monday, but afternoon highs will still range from the lower 70s to the upper 80s.

The ridge that brought all the sunshine and warmth will be broken down this week by 3 separate areas of low pressure. The first two won't be very powerful, but the third will be a much bigger weather pattern changer for us. We can expect some clouds Monday followed by stronger wind Tuesday as the first trough passes overhead. We'll have a repeat performance Wednesday and Thursday with clouds followed by breezes, but it will stay quite warm. A deeper trough of low pressure will bring a lot more clouds late Friday through this weekend, and there will be a chance of rain this weekend along with wind and cooler air.

Gusty northeast winds and the potential for morning fog are ahead for the start of your Wednesday. We'll end up sunny and very warm Wednesday afternoon. Dry and warm weather will persist into this weekend, but we finally have a cooling trend and the potential for wet weather returning in your extended forecast.
