Monday brought a chilly morning but a mild afternoon with plenty of sunshine and increasing clouds late in the day. A storm is approaching at this time, and it will bring more light rain and mountain snow to northern California on Tuesday. Although we had some clouds today, the sun was fairly widespread through most of the day. We can expect increasing clouds tonight and Tuesday, with another round of light rain and light mountain snow showers, mainly north. Lows tonight won't be quite as clouds due to more cloud cover, ranging from the 20s in the mountains to the 30s and 40s in the valley and foothills. Tuesday will be mostly cloudy and cooler with most of the rain and snow to the north and west with highs in the 40s and 50s.
Another round of rain and mountain snow will push over northern California on Wednesday. Only light amounts of rain and snow are expected, and temperatures will remain seasonable. A small ridge will bring brief clearing of our sky on Thursday before another minor disturbance to our north brings more clouds but no great chances for rain on Friday. A larger ridge of high pressure will then move over California this weekend and early next week, which will bring more sunshine, fewer clouds, and much warmer than average weather late in our extended forecast. Overnight lows will remain milder than average due to the clouds and showers, while valley highs will rise from the lower 50s to the mid and upper 60s by next Monday.
