We began our new week with plenty of sunshine, heat and some gusty wind around northern California, and a Red Flag Warning continues for the Modoc, Lassen and Plumas counties through 8PM tonight. A small disturbance will continue to bring gusty wind to our area through this evening, but the sky will remain mostly clear to clear. Lows will range from the 40s and 50s in the mountains to the 60s in the valley. Tuesday will be another mostly sunny to sunny day with hotter temperatures, but slightly weather wind. Highs will range from the 80s in the mountains to the 90s in the valley.
The same trough-like pattern which we had much of last week will continue this week, but the temperatures will get warmer. We'll have weaker wind on Tuesday and Wednesday, followed by stronger breezes Thursday and Friday. A stronger trough of low pressure will traverse our region on Sunday and Monday, leading to stronger wind and increased fire danger. Temperatures will also warm to above average levels for all areas through early next week. Highs will be mainly in the 80s in the mountains, with highs in the valley rising from the lower and mid 90s to the upper 90s and lower 100s.
