Storm Tracker Forecast - Cooler Friday And A Hotter Weekend

It was a cooler day for everyone, but much cooler for the North Valley due to a needed wind shift. It will be a little cooler Friday as well, before another weekend warming trend comes our way.

Thankfully for the North Valley, the wind shifted as expected and today was significantly cooler than yesterday. We can expect a clear, quiet and mild night around northern California with lows ranging from the upper 40s and 50s for the mountains, with 60s and a few lower 70s for the foothills and valley. Friday will be a brief continuation to our cooling trend. We will still have a mostly sunny to sunny sky and the breezes will continue, but highs will be a few degrees cooler. The mountains can expect highs in the 80s and 90s, with 90s and lower 100s for the foothills and valley to end the week.

A weak disturbance will miss California to the north on Friday and Saturday leading to breezy afternoons and evenings, a few more clouds, but little change other than that. A ridge of high pressure will rebuild over much of the western United States late this weekend and early next week, leading to another warming trend. Highs will peak on Sunday and Monday, before slowly cooling back to seasonable levels by late next week. Highs in the mountains will remain in the 80s and lower 90s, with highs in the foothills and valley staying in the 90s and lower to mid 100s. Lows will range from the 50s to near 70.
