We've got some minor changes on the way to Northern California in your Tuesday forecast, but temperatures will stay well above average this afternoon. The biggest change will be increasing clouds in the afternoon, and a chance for showers and thunderstorms across the far Northern zones of our region tonight. Temperatures have stayed very warm overnight, and are starting out in the 50's to 60's in the valley, and in the 30's to 40's in the mountains. Skies are starting out sunny to mostly sunny, but will become partly cloudy in most areas later today. Winds will be shifting from being out of the East to being out of the South by this afternoon, and will be up to 15mph later today. Showers and thunderstorms will be possible across the Northern Mountains, and North valley as early as this afternoon, and the threat of active weather will persist into tonight. High temperatures will top out in the mid to high 80's in the valley today, and in the 70's to 80's in the mountains.

Showers will mostly wrap up late tonight, but we do have the chance for some wet weather lingering in the Northern Mountains through early Wednesday morning. The clouds will be clearing out of the region tomorrow, but temperatures will be several degrees cooler than today. Most valley areas will end up in the low to mid 80's on Wednesday, and mountain areas will end up in the 60's to 70's. Sunny skies will return to the region for your Thursday, and temperatures will be warming up again for the end of the week. Valley areas will end up in the high 80's to low 90's on Thursday and Friday.

Earlier projections were showing mid 90's returning to the valley this weekend, but now it looks like we will mostly be in the low 90's. We are expecting to stay sunny and dry across the region on Saturday and Sunday. There is a slight chance that wrap around showers may extend back into the Northern Sierra and Southern Cascades during the weekend, but that does not look likely as of the latest model runs. A very modest cooling trend then returns for the start of next week.
