Staying comfortable today, but another warming trend is ahead

Cloudy and mild conditions are on tap for your Wednesday, but a big warming trend is on the way for the rest of your week

Partly cloudy to cloudy skies, and all around mild conditions are ahead for your Wednesday in Northern California. The clouds have helped to keep temperatures a couple of degrees warmer overnight, but it's still going to be a chilly start to your morning. There will be a very slight potential for a few sprinkles popping up in the far Northern zones of our area this afternoon, but the main impact from wet weather will be well to our North. Temperatures have dipped into the mid 40's to low 50's in the valley this morning, and into the 20's to 30's in most mountain areas early today. Winds are out of the Northeast to around 5mph to start your day, but are projected to stay mostly light this afternoon. Humidity will dip into the 20 to 35 percent range again today, and the dry weather will keep fire danger as a concern for your afternoon. Fire danger will mostly be in the mild range today, but low humidity could result in easy fire starts. Temperatures will climb into the mid 70's in the valley this afternoon, and into the low 60's to low 70's in the mountains. Those high temperatures will be around average for this time of year.

High pressure will be building back into California from the Eastern Pacific over the next few days, and that is going to result in some substantial changes to your forecast. A very decent warming trend, sunny skies, and dry weather are ahead for the rest of your work week, and will extend into the start of your weekend. Valley areas will climb back into the low to mid 80's on Thursday, mid 80's on Friday, and mid to high 80's on Saturday. Skies will be sunny to mostly sunny during that time and winds will mostly stay out of the North to 10mph. We do have another cooling trend on the horizon for next week.

Looks like cloudy skies, and a modest cooling trend will return to our area on Sunday. There will be a chance for showers across the Northwest corner of the state from Sunday through Monday, but the remainder of Northern California will stay dry. Valley areas will end up in the mid to high 70's for Monday and Tuesday. Overnight low temperatures will continue to dip into the 40's to low 50's in the valley over the next 7 days, and into the 20's to 30's in the mountains. A warming trend is currently set to return for your Halloween forecast, and conditions are expected to stay dry. The current forecast for Halloween looks very pleasant across Northern California.

More heat and sunshine for our area today, and thankfully weaker wind for our dry region. The highs will get hotter, but the wind will also get stronger late in the forecast.
