Staff members at the new Sheraton Redding Hotel at the Sundial Bridge are busy getting ready for their grand opening Thursday.
About 80 employees put the finishing touches on the hotel and got some last-minute on the job training in preparation for the big day.
“We have quite a bit of training going on,” general manager Lindsay Myers said. “We have some last minute details that we're doing.”
Myers says this day has been a long time coming and it's exciting to see things coming together.
“So this has been fun to see it actually get to this point, Myers said. “But this project is almost 10 years old. So to see it here and be one day away, 24 hours away from opening is just beyond exciting.”
The public is invited to attend the ribbon cutting Thursday at 2 pm in front of the hotel.
“And then we open to the public for the first time,” Myers said. “So come, enjoy pizzas in Mosaic. We're serving dinner and we're checking in our first guest tomorrow.”
