REDDING, Calif. - It’s summer solstice! The start of summer is known as the longest day of the year.
It’s also the one day of the year that the Sundial Bridge in Redding is at its most accurate as a sundial.
A lot of people visit the bridge on that day.
A man from San Diego even drove all the way to Redding catch the event.
"We were here last night to see it all lit up and it’s lovely but this is the icing on the cake to see it in the sunlight and watch the solstice passage,” said the San Diego man.
The celebrations at the bridge will continue Thursday evening with the Sundial Music Festival.
