Update 1:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, 2019 - HIGHWAY 299 has been reopened 3.3 miles east of the Humboldt/Trinity County line.

HIGHWAY 89 is closed at Eagle Point Campground in Emerald Bay to Bliss State Park due to white-out conditions.

Update 1:25 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, 2019 - It's not a snow issue, but a traffic incident has reduced the northbound traffic lanes on Highway 99 just north of Lincoln. There is no estimated time that this will be cleared up. It is suggested you take a detour if you were planning to head north on 99 through this area.

Updated 12:27 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, 2019 - State Route 3 is now open in Trinity and Siskiyou Counties between Trinity Center and Callahan.

Updated 11:55 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, 2019 - INTERSTATE 80 is closed from Colfax in Placer County to the Nevada State Line due to zero visibility. It is closed to trucks from Applegate in Placer Co. to Truckee in Nevada County because of the zero visibility. Truck drivers advised to use an alternate route.

INTERSTATE 5: Travel not recommended between Weed and Yreka in Siskiyou County for campers, trailers or permit loads due to a high wind advisory.

Updated 11:28 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 10, 2019 - Highway 299 is now closed both east and westbound east of the Salyer Store. This is due to trees that have fallen in the roadway. Caltrans predicts the highway will be open again by 2:00 p.m.

Highway 299 west of Junction City is under one-way traffic controls due to emergency work. This is expected to last until Feb. 14, 2019 at 5:00 p.m.

Highway 20 in closed one mile east of Nevada City to Interstate 80 due to spin-outs. Only local residents with proper identification will be allowed access at this time. Alternate routes advised.

It took a few hours, but the sun broke through the clouds over most of northern California Tuesday afternoon. The low clouds, fog and light rain showers return to the valley Wednesday, with snowy weather in the mountains.
