UPDATE: 12:21 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2021 - Highway 96, approximately 8 miles west of Happy Camp, is now open following a closure due to a rock slide, according to Cal Trans.

SISKIYOU COUNTY, Calif. - A slide has closed part of Highway 96 in Siskiyou County.
Cal Trans says it closed the highway for safety reasons because of the amount of debris entering the roadway and the current weather system.
This same area, eight miles west of Happy Camp, also closed Friday night and again Saturday night because of slide activity.
Cal Trans crews were able to clear about 200 cubic yards of debris Sunday, Jan. 10 before reopening the roadway.
There is no detour available. Cal Trans says the highway will remain closed at least through Wednesday, Jan. 13.
